Parents as Teachers

PAT

An early-learning program for families with children prenatal to age 5.

As a parent, you are your child’s first teacher and your home is your child’s first schoolhouse. Your baby begins learning at birth. Parents as Teachers can help you lay a strong foundation for your child’s future success in school. Parents as Teachers is offered at no cost to interested parents within the Boonville R-1 School District.

 What We Offer

  • Home Visits: Personalized home visits by a certified Parent Educator, specially trained in child development and eager to help you give your child a great start
  • Group Connections: Group meetings with other families where you can share parenting experiences, gain new insight about your child, and participate in themed parent-child activities.
  • Play Groups: Small play groups held outdoors, weather permitting, or at the PAT Center with the opportunity to socialize with other parents in the program.
  •  Screenings: PAT offers periodic screenings of overall development, language, hearing, and vision to offer parents a look at how their child is developing in those areas.

How to Get Started

All of our group activities are free and open to the public, but if you would like a more personalized experience for you and your child, please contact us to begin setting up visits.
