Capitol Visit

Pathways Students Visit State Capitol
Posted on 03/10/2022
Missouri School Board Association invited Boonville to send a program to represent our district at the State Capitol during the 2022 MSBA Spring Student Showcase.
Four Pathways to the Teaching Profession program students Lilli Hendrix, Rachel Massa, Josie Widel, and Ashlee Pickens with Instructor Kristin Roberts and Principal Kenya Fuemmeler represented Boonville Schools. This group spent an afternoon describing their program to school board members and school administrators from across the state, Missouri Senators, members from the Missouri House of Representatives, and business professionals visiting the Capitol. They were especially honored to speak with Governor Mike Parson. They even managed to get a photo with Boonville School Board Member Steve Litwiller!
Pathways to the Teaching Professions gives students a jump start into the education career path. Students actively assist and have mentor teachers in an assigned classroom. Around the District, Pathways students are serving in classrooms from second grade to band to geometry! They are fortunate to have expert advice from their mentor teachers and Mrs. Roberts, while following curriculum provided by Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Mrs. Roberts said, "I am so proud of these students! It was an amazing day!"
