Photo of Fred SmithFred Smith is the Assistant Superintendent for the Boonville School District. He grew up on the west-edge of Columbia and always loved the outdoors. After graduating from Hickman High School, Smith went on to attend the University of Missouri and Central Methodist University. He has a Bachelor’s Degree from CMC, as well as his Master’s and Education Specialist Degrees from William Woods University. In addition to this, he has completed all doctorate classes and exams. Mr. Smith is most definitely qualified for the job!

He says he became an administrator because he wanted to help people. The community, staff, and students are all extremely important to him. “There is so much more to the job than anyone can prepare you for,” said Mr. Smith.

Mr. Smith has many fond memories working with the district. Some of these include teaching health classes in 1998 at LSE, becoming a principal in 2013, and working with the wonderful staff members of the district. He says the job is truly about people and building relationships, and this value is definitely seen in his work with the district!
