Boonville Pirates: Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow
Boonville Schools are placing a renewed emphasis on the importance of student attendance. We know that our Pirate students learn best when they are in the school environment, and we look forward to seeing them each day!
Regular attendance is essential for students to gain the academic and social skills they need to thrive. Research shows that students who are chronically absent (missing 10 percent or more of the school year, or the equivalent of 16 days over an entire year) are less likely to read proficiently by third grade, achieve in middle school, and graduate from high school.
Regular attendance is vital to our District goals: The Mission of the Boonville School District is to provide all students with a quality education, and become responsible individuals, competent workers, and contributing citizens. Setting up positive attendance patterns gives the youth of our community the opportunity to gain skills and abilities to prepare them for success in school, work, and life.
As the parent/guardian of a Pirate student, you are an essential piece to ensuring your student is able to be successful at school. Our schools want to work with you to overcome any barriers to attendance. Thank you for your partnership and support.
