Dear Boonville Families,

The Boonville R-1 Board of Education has named Dr. Brent Hodge as the next Superintendent of Schools, effective with the 2026–2027 school year.

Dr. Hodge currently serves as Principal of Boonville High School and will remain in that role for the duration of this school year. This allows for continuity at the high school and time to hire the next BHS principal.

There are no immediate changes as a result of this announcement. School leadership, daily operations, and classroom learning will continue as usual. Our current Superintendent, Mr. Mark Harvey, will continue serving the district through July 1, and we thank him for his leadership and service.

Dr. Hodge shared the following message:

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve the Boonville R-1 community and excited to get started as superintendent. Boonville has a strong sense of pride and a real commitment to students, and I’m looking forward to building on that together.”

Dr. Hodge and his wife, Kelly, are both educators. Kelly serves as a Pre-K–8 school counselor, and together they have two young children, Hallie (3) and Bennett (1). As a family, they enjoy spending time outdoors and being part of the Boonville community.
