AMI Information

Pirate Pup Families,

On Friday, January 9, you will receive an AMI choice board in your child’s backpack. Please keep this choice board in a safe, easy-to-find place. IF the district utilizes an AMI day, this choice board will serve as your child’s guide to learning for the day. Announcements about weather-related school closures will be shared via Parent Square, Facebook, and on local news stations.

Here are some important things for you to know about AMI learning at HCP:

  • Teachers are sending home a choice board. Students will select one activity from each column to complete. Additional activities may be completed at each family's discretion.
  • These materials are a review of instructional information that teachers have already taught during the school year. Children may need help reading directions or getting started, but the goal is for students to be able to independently complete the work in the packet.
  • Students are invited to join Mrs. Jackson & Mrs. Bishop at 8:00 AM for our daily morning meeting via a link shared on Parent Square.
  • Teachers will be checking email and Parent Square between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Messages sent outside those hours may receive a delayed response.
  • Our activity (art, music, PE, counseling & library) teachers have prepared a BINGO board of optional activities. Students can complete 5 activities and return their BINGO board for a Pirate Pup ticket.
  • All choice boards are due on the next in-session day immediately following the AMI learning day. Please check for messages from your child’s teacher regarding ways to submit choice boards.
  • Completing an activity in each column of the choice board is required for full attendance on the AMI day.

Please reach out to your child’s teacher or email the HCP office with any questions.

Sincerely,
Chelsea Jackson, principal

FCCLA Project

A group of FCCLA students from BHS are parenting with HCP students to promote seatbelt safety. Your child will bring home a packet with details from Booster the Rooster about the importance of wearing your seatbelt and a fun challenge. We are excited to work with BHS for this fun project. Look for more information soon!

Attention PK & Kinder Families

KidSight is coming to our school on 1/20/26. Forms went home with students before winter break. They only need to be returned if you DO NOT want your child screened. The screening is for Preschoolers and Kindergarteners and it is free! Results will be sent home to the parents if follow-up support is needed. Contact Morgan Keys, our health aide, for more details!
