Boonville Schools hire substitutes for a variety of positions:

Substitute Teacher

Support Staff which includes

  • Paraprofessional
  • Administrative Assistant
  • Food Service Workers
  • Custodial and Maintenance

Substitute hiring is flexible; if your schedule allows for a certain amount of days or times, the District will work with you.

Teacher/Para Sub Certification

A Content Substitute Certificate may be granted to an individual who is at least 21 years of age, has a high school diploma, General Education Diploma (GED) or High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) and has successfully completed a minimum of twenty (20) clock hours of department-approved substitute teacher training that includes professionalism, honoring diversity, engaging students, foundational classroom management techniques, basic instructional strategies, supporting students with special needs, and working with at-risk youth.

Path to Hiring for Substitutes

Support Staff (Paraprofessional, Secretary, Health Aide, Custodian, and Food Service Workers)

  1. Potential staff member completes online application starting here. See Application Process for detailed instructions.
  2. Potential staff member obtains fingerprints and initiates background check.
  • DESE requires individuals to pre-register online through the State Highway Patrol's Missouri Automated Criminal History Site (MACHS).  The registration site is located at www.machs.mo.gov
  • When registering for fingerprints, use the district name and code:  Boonville R-I Schools  0537 (sub).
  • Applicant pays fee of $44.80 and is reimbursed by the district.
