Dear Pirate Families:

The Cooper County Health Department issued COVID-19 Quarantine modifications based on recent CDC changes. The Boonville School District adheres to County Health Department guidelines and health procedures. The Cooper County Health Department issued the following quarantine changes on 12/07/2020 which impact school quarantine procedures for students and staff:

· A fourteen-day quarantine for individuals exposed to COVID-19 (identified as a “close contact”) may be reduced under the following conditions:

o The identified close contact is free of COVID-19 symptoms; and

o The identified close contact receives a negative nasal pharyngeal PCR or rapid nasal test on day seven or later; and

o Negative test results are submitted to the school district prior to return to school or work; and

o Identified close contacts continue to wear a mask for fourteen days.

o Individuals identified as close contact who choose not to test at day seven may complete quarantine after day ten; and

o The identified close contact is free of COVID-19 symptoms; and

o Continue to wear a mask.

o Individuals who participate in PCR or rapid nasal test on day 7 and receive a positive COVID-19 test result will need to isolate at home for ten days from date of first display of symptoms or positive test result.

The District will follow the changes as indicated by the County Health Department. The Cooper County Health Department provides PCR testing free of charge by appointment for Cooper County residents. Priority is given to symptomatic patients. Individuals who are interested in PCR testing should contact the Cooper County Health Department to schedule.

Sincerely,

Dr. Sarah Marriott
